After just six months, Quibi’s attempt to create the “next big thing in on-the-go” video fizzled out. Which was especially disappointing considering they had a $1.75-billion “war chest” built up to launch the mobile-only streaming service. What Quibi does have, however, is a substantial batch of content that the vultures are circling over like “Murder House Flip” and the relaunch of “Reno 911.” Currently, Roku appears to be in the driver’s seat, as they’re reported to be in “advanced talks” with those charged with Quibi’s liquidation.
These shows including “#FreeRayshawn,” “Dummy,” “Survive,” “Most Dangerous Game,” and everything else would be streamed on Roku’s free ad-supported channel, so… yaayyyy, no new streaming service!… For now.
