People are getting their entire faces waxed in a new viral TikTok trend that dermatologists say is dumb and dangerous. The videos have collectively amassed millions of views. The latest one, posted by Kapsalon Freedom barbershop in the Netherlands, shows a barber caking a patient’s face — including their eyes — with green wax as if making a mold for a horror movie. He even put wax-dipped Q-Tips stuck in his nose to extract nasal hairs. Watch below

Needless to say, skin experts are warning the public against full-face waxes. “It is clearly not a good idea to cover the whole face with wax,” said Dr. Emma Wedgeworth, a dermatologist and spokeswoman for the British Skin Foundation. She said the “senseless practice” is particularly harmful when applied to the nose due to the delicate skin and blood vessels.
