Demi Lovato’s four-part YouTube Originals docuseries: Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil premiered yesterday and she is breaking her silence on the events that led to her near-fatal 2018 overdose. She had been in the middle of a world tour and filming a documentary that has since been shelved. At the time she was only allowing the cameras to see the tip of the iceberg, she wasn’t taken fans behind closed doors. The reality was she was miserable and it led her down that dark path. From the estranged relationship with her father to the enduring overwhelming control from her team to relapsing to the night of the overdose, she talks about it all. The first two episodes of Dancing with the Devil are available to stream now, with a new episode airing every Tuesday.

Lovato has also shared the title of her collab with Ariana Grande in her Paper cover story earlier this week. Met Him Last Night will be featured on her upcoming seventh album Dancing with the Devil…The Art of Starting Over on April 2. It highlights two of the most powerful voices in pop. Lovato also confirmed she and Saweetie will tag-team a female empowerment anthem. And yet another featured artist has been unveiled too: Noah Cyrus. She posted an audio snippet of their collab on her socials over the weekend.
Could you imagine if Taylor Swift and Katy Perry worked together? Well, Perry has planted the idea in fans’ heads. American Idol’s Hollywood Week duets episode aired Monday. Whole lot of duets and collabs on the show. At one point Perry huddled up with her fellow Idol judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan to reflect on what the two could do after finally putting their feud to rest. She said can you imagine if Taylor and I worked together, what we could do? That statement alone got fans talking. So many fan theories online now. They’re thinking that was an Easter Egg, little hint that a collab could be on the way. Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift is helping another mother impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with a generous $50,000 donation. Swift and her mom Andrea donated the exact goal amount of a GoFundMe dedicated to Vickie Quarles, the mother of five daughters whose husband died of COVID-19. Back in December, Swift donated a very on-brand amount of $13,000 to two mothers who were struggling to pay their bills during the pandemic. She has taken matters into her own hands and sent stimulus checks to longtime fans who lost their jobs during the ongoing crisis. Just excuse us while we go ugly cry. You can see a full timeline of Swift’s random acts of kindness here.
