Billie Eilish will serve as one of the co-chairs of the 2021 Met Gala alongside actor Timothee Chalamet. The slate of hosts will preside over the physical return of the annual fashion bonanza after its 2020 edition was shelved due to the pandemic. With American Independence as it theme, the news of Eilish’s duties arrived just days after she blew minds with a high-glam cover shoot for Vogue. Can’t wait to see what she wears for that!
Saturday Night Live is ending season 46 with some popular artists. NBC’s comedy show announced it will be ending the season with Olivia Rodrigo and Lil Nas X as musical guests. Rodrigo will be making her SNL debut on May 15 when Keeghan-Michael Key will host for the first time. Lil Nas X’s May 22 performance for the season finale will also mark his debut on the show. The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy will be hosting that night for the first time. This weekend’s show is Elon Musk and Miley Cyrus.
Selena Gomez launched a new Mental Health 101 educational campaign with her beauty brand Rare Beauty. She wrote in a note online about how Mental Health 101 is so close to her heart because of her own struggles with mental health being bipolar. Mental Health 101 is the education Gomez wished she’d had in school but is now dedicated to proving for others. The initiative which coincides with May being Mental Health Awareness Month is dedicated to supporting mental health education and encouraging financial support for more mental health services in educational services. There’s no shame in taking care of your mental health. That’s the message Ariana Grande sent in an Instagram post to mark this significant month. Grande said here’s to ending the stigma around mental health and normalizing asking for help. Healing isn’t linear, fun, quick or at all easy but we are here and we’ve got to commit to making this time as healthy peaceful and beautiful as possible.
