The Weeknd swept the 2021 Juno Awards, which honor the year’s best music by Canadian artists. The Weeknd won five awards including artist of the year, album of the year and songwriter of the year. Yet he didn’t appear on the show, either to perform or accept an award. Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber and JP Saxe were also big winners last night. Mendes took the fan-voted choice award for the third time in the past five years. Bieber won pop album of the year for Changes and Saxe took home breakthrough artist of the year.

The mechanical bull-riding video for the track dropped on Friday and it finds her slipping into her finest black cowboy hat, animal-print bikini and Western wear for a slow-mo ride on an animatronic longhorn in an abandoned ballroom. Not the only material Dua Lipa is dropping too. She released the new song Can They Hear Us from the forthcoming soundtrack for the film Gully.
One of the stars of the popular Nickelodeon children’s show Drake & Josh faces criminal charges regarding a girl he had met online and who attended his 2017 concert in Ohio when she was 15. Drake Bell pleaded not guilty on Thursday in a courtroom to a felony charge of attempted endangering children and a misdemeanor charge. Bell and the girl had developed a relationship online several years prior to the concert. Bell sent the girl inappropriate social media messages. He was charged by information, which typically indicates a plea agreement has been reached. He’s scheduled to appear before a judge later this month.
Pink, JoJo Siwa, Kylie Minogue, Leslie Odom Jr. and more musician helped kick off Pride Month by performing for the Can’t Cancel Pride relief benefit special Friday. The hour-long stream was hosted by Bebe Rexha and featured a variety of talent to break down what PRIDE means to them, letter by letter. The event will be available on demand throughout Pride Month until June 30 on the Roku Channel and online, raising funds for the LGBTQ+ community through a number of great organizations.
