Hey there! So, I don’t think I’ve ever told you this… but I used to be a MAJOR band nerd in high school. So when we got the opportunity to play again, I could NOT pass it up!

For a little backstory, I played in the DuBois Area High School Marching Band all four years of high school. I played bass drum my freshman year (I couldn’t even see over it) and snare every year after. Then, my senior year I became a drum major! It was one of the best things I ever did in high school. I made some of the best memories, and the best friends during my time there.

So, when I heard they were doing an alumni night for the homecoming game, you bet your bottom dollar I was going to be there! I dug my old sticks out of my closet and made my way to the stadium. I loved being able to see everyone again, we’ve all changed so much, but being under those lights and playing again felt all the same. Minus the fact that I struggled to remember all of the music. Brought back so many memories, I almost got a bit emotional…

After the game, the current band played their show, and it was FANTASTIC!!! I was so proud of what the band has become. There was a smile on my face the second I got there, and I don’t think it went away until I left. It was a night I will never forget.
