Donate Your Old Jeans To Help Others and Get New Ones!

If you’re like everyone else on the Internet who binge-watched the Netflix series “Tidying Up With Marie Kondo,” (it’s about all the benefits of clearing the clutter in your home) you’re probably feeling that urge to purge. Clearing out your closet can be very freeing and now thanks to a new project from J. Crew, it’s even easier to recycle those old jeans that don’t spark joy anymore.

Crew just announced that they’re partnering with Habitat for Humanity, the nonprofit that helps build affordable housing for low-income families, for J.Crew’s denim recycling program. It started in 2014 to recycle used denim into insulation to be used in houses and keep it out of landfills.

Here’s how it works: Just bring your old jeans into a J. Crew store and they’ll give them to the Blue Jeans Go Green Program, which turns denim into cotton fiber housing insulation. And as an incentive, J. Crew will give customers who trade in their old jeans $20 off a new pair.
