Almost from the very first gig, Harry Styles has gotten used to playing for thousands of screaming fans. But in his NPR Tiny Desk debut concert, Harry stripped things all the way back for a peaceful, easy feeling four-song set that spotlighted his Fine Line album. Styles kicked things off with Cherry, saying it’s the longest it’s ever taken him to finish a song, liking it then hating it, going back forward constantly. He ended things with his hit Adore You. Check out the stripped-back performance to take your mind off things for a little while:
OneRepublic unveiled the music video for their latest single Didn’t I on Friday. Ryan Tedder belts out the lovesick ode to a former flame as he wanders through a moody estate. Didn’t I is set to be featured on the band’s 5th studio album, Human which will be released May 8. Ryan also confirmed he’ll be returning for season 2 of NBC’s hit songwriting competition show Songland.
Billie Eilish’s everything I wanted is a tribute to her brother Finneas. However, Billie has admitted that song wasn’t always so reassuring. She got the inspiration a year prior, when she had a dream about taking her own life. When she took the idea to her brother, he got really uncomfortable, rightfully so, with this worrying topic, that the two of them had a big argument. A year later they went back to the track and changed their perspective on it, instead making it about them as siblings and what they mean to each other.
Ellie Goulding has entered 2020 with her past behind her. She’s called on blackbear for her new anthem, Worry About Me. The music video takes on a sinister tone, set in the woods. Goulding takes control after being stranded in a remote cabin with blackbears. Ellie said Worry About Me is a song she wrote reminiscing about a time a guy wanted her at his convenience, just as she was getting over him. She’s not bitter, instead found it to be funny so she put her attitude and independence in the track.
