For many, 4th of July celebrations look a lot different this year due to the pandemic, but if you plan on staying indoors, no worries, there’s plenty of entertainment to enjoy from the comfort of your living room. John Legend, The Black Eyed Peas and many more are set to take the stage during NBC’s 44th annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular. That will be on Saturday at 8PM. CNN’s The Fourth in America, a primetime speech hoping to honor Americans, demand equality and pay tribute to those on the front lines will feature tons of artists. And PBS will air the 40th anniversary presentation of A Capital Fourth at 8PM this Saturday.
Sia’s been promoted to the title of grandmother! She revealed one of her sons recently welcomed his own children. She said my youngest son just had two babies. I’m a grandma! I know right? They call me Nana. But she doesn’t really want to be called that. She said she’s trying to get them to call her Lovey. Sia had confirmed back in May she adopted two 18 year olds last year, opening up about her fantastic sons and their history in foster care.
Katy Perry is getting real about mental health. She opened up finding hope after going through some dark times back in 2017. She said she lost her smile and now sees this fall she took as a positive calling that time in her life both a good crash and necessary brokenness. Perry said gratitude is probably the thing that saved my life. Because if I didn’t find that, I would have wallowed in my own sadness and probably just jumped but I found the ways to be grateful.
Pride Month may be over but Christina Aguilera is still making sure her LGBTQ fans feel seen. Aguilera took to her social media to celebrate the final day of Pride Month. Starting on TikTok, she posted a video of herself getting into full makeup as she lip-synced and danced to Glam. She also posted a clip on Twitter of one of her old concerts where she said If I can leave you with one simple message, it’s to love yourself and love each other. Here’s to celebrating love in all colors and life to its fullest.
